The opening shot
The curtain, the auditorium and the follow-spot are rendered live in the browser: velvet folds, a slow dolly down the aisle, and a beam of light traced through drifting haze. It adapts to every phone.

What went into it
The curtain, the auditorium and the follow-spot are rendered live in the browser: velvet folds, a slow dolly down the aisle, and a beam of light traced through drifting haze. It adapts to every phone.
Google sign-in, a five-step form that knows every club and talent, first-years without a USN welcome, and photos resized on the device before they upload.
Search, filters and spreadsheet export for organisers, read-only views for club presidents, and a drag-and-drop running order with start times for every act.
A live projector view, driven from a phone or a clicker backstage, that puts each performer’s photo, name and fun fact on screen as they walk on.
Amazon EC2 on Graviton in Mumbai, Amazon S3 for photos, the database streamed to S3 every second, and HTTPS throughout. Resized for the rush in a single command.
Load-tested with 900 people on the site at once and 900 registrations arriving together: every one stored, not a single failed request.
